Recommended Web Hosting
Note that we are speaking from experience and manage many websites on all the major hosting companies provided. This way we can provide you with a standard measure of the performance of each.
Hosting approximately 1% of the world’s websites, HostGator has set a high standard among web hosting companies in its 10 year history. Everything is top notch with a broad array of every function you would need. HostGator has an uptime record of 99.9%. Customer support is 24/7 365 days per year. HostGator offers a 45-day money-back guarantee.
We put HostGator first because it is the most logical all around hosting choice.
BlueHost is different from virtually every other hosting company in that it designs and builds its own servers. Wow! The advantage is that BlueHost really knows what’s going on inside their server network. BlueHost is one of the 20 largest web hosting companies, hosting over 1.9 million domains. This includes its sister companies HostMonster and FastDomain.
HostMonster is a sister site to BlueHost. Our thought is go to the source, but HostMonster does claim special “technical” customer support.
Just Host gives you free registration for 1 domain with the Just Plan or free transfer of a domain. With the Just Host plan you have the ability to host as many domains as you wish from one location.
Just Host provides a secure and reliable hosting environment. Websites are hosted on high performance quad processor servers, in a data center equipped with a UPS power back-up generator. Network monitoring is 24/7 and issues are addressed immediately. Customer support is provided by phone, chat or email.
Just Host offers a “no questions asked” anytime money-back guarantee with all hosting plans. If you cancel your account then a refund for the remainder of the term is refunded. Note that the refund excludes any domain registration fees paid, but you get to keep your domain name. Go to JustHost.
Although we do manage websites on iPage, it reminds us like iPower where we had managed sites for years. iPage is a very popular hosting provider and serves over 1,000,000 sites, so it is not all bad. Our biggest complaint is that it is a bit clumsy to use and support can vary.
NOTE: We have intentionally not listed several major hosting companies due to our opinion that they should be avoided due to extremely poor performance in either functional options, server (web sites going down), and/or customer support. If you are really curious who they are, and why we don’t recommended them, we will give you that information as a service. Simply send an email to (it can be blank – no need to write anything): avoid@webglitzer.com and you will receive the hosting companies with our explanations why in our opinion they should be avoided.
